Okay... I will admit it, I have a love hate relationship with Poppy's.
I first planted these 8 years ago after digging them up from the roadside. They were beautiful and I wanted to photograph them naturally in my own gardens.
Fast forward to today. I have battled to keep these gems from taking over my gardens. Yes that was plural. Through the years they have made there way into almost every one of my gardens, they grown within my Daylilly so it seems they become a high breed Daylilly or within my clematis vines. I have dug them up like a crazy woman each time I saw them sprout, just when I think I had them all well Mother Nature seems to have another plan and another garden to hit.
So... I decided this year I was not going to take on that battle and just let them bloom first and then remove the ones that were in gardens that they had no business in. ha ha
These are a few of the images that I was able to get through our very very wet spring and high winds. As most you know one breath of wind on these releases those delicate petals to the ground right quickly.
But, I also found some beauty within the finished poppy that was struggling to hang on. I think that this one may be one of my favorites.
Hope you enjoy... Happy weekend to you all!!!!
