Yes, it's been too long since my last blog post, I can't agree more.
I have a lot of catching up to do so there will be more coming next weeks or so and I am very excited to share these all with you.
Our winter this year wasn't as cold or snowy as the past few years but, we had been teased through the winter with a 40 and 60 degree day here and there. Which in turn made finding food and survival quite difficult for many animals.
This year was the first year in a very long time that I had a Cooper's Hawk problem. They were on the hunt all winter long... stalking my poor little one hours upon hours. I had 5 ranging from small (2ft wing span to 6ft wing spans). This made feeding difficult and quite a challenge to say the least for all the birds. And as I had said before we don't allow stalking "on our watch". So yes, Rhyan and I both got a lot of exercise going to the door, deck and feeds to scare those big guys off.
Now that Spring has finally come (even after our snow last week) I can't wait to get out to the flower gardens and get some nesting materials around for the birds and wait upon the arrival of the new little ones.
